We have introduced a series of articles on common orthopaedic conditions written by specialists on a particular topic. The aim is to briefly summarise the available evidence in a balanced manner. We hope that these will provide a quick reference for general clinicians and that the comprehensive references may be explored further if a more detailed review of the subject is sought such as in a journal club.
