Editor James Scott has this to say on the launch of our new video:
'We have for some time considered occasionally adding some complementary material in the form of a short video to illustrate a particular paper. It thus seemed appropriate that this might be used to illustrate some aspects of a complicated surgical technique such as the use of computer navigation when planning and undertaking the resection of bone tumours in the pelvis and the distal femur. This video particularly illustrates the stages that are required in the planning of the operation, and the various aspects of this type of surgery, which can only be explained with difficulty as text, are clarified.'
The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, British Volume plans in the future to use videos and particularly animated material in this way to enhance and clarify complex surgical issues - so keep watching for more videos.
